Hótel Búðir

North Wind

A lone hotel on the Snæfellsnes coast, bright rooms under grey skies and the north wind always close. A hotel story about warmth at the edge of the Atlantic.

The brief

The approach

Weather outside, stillness inside.

Anna worked with the changing Icelandic light: soft mornings in the lounges, slow breakfasts by the window and short walks out into the wind along the coast.

The idea

Let the contrast between the wild coast and the calm interiors tell the story of the stay.
